現實生活中的性別差異,彷彿空氣般的四處皆然,也可能像空氣般的存在,不被查覺。性別意識的啟蒙、再現與實踐,在日常生活中反覆上演,既可能強化了理解,也可能強化的誤解?「家」的意義,甚至是對於歷史的詮釋,之於性別的想像有著密切且幽微的關係。性別問題並非日常的一切,但是透過性別問題的提醒,有機會開起重新審視自我的可能。
多元成展計畫,於2014年開始,在網路上開始徵集關注性別議題的藝術創作者,並於同年開始,以一年至少一檔展覽方式舉辦實體 展,先後分別在福利社藝術空間、國立台灣美術館數位方舟計劃以及南海藝廊,舉辦「見光死」、「你雙眼闔上我滅亡」與「不逾矩」這三檔展覽;分別從出櫃與愛情、媒體與社會以及性別與欲望這三個「離題」的主題,來聚焦性別的討論。今年展覽計畫邁入第四年,在一貫離題的方式中,以「今天不回家」為名稱,在過往展覽主題基礎上,增加對於「家」的想像與思考。此次參展藝術家包含巴魯‧瑪迪霖、莊志維、陳安安+黃韶瑩、陳漢聲、黃孟雯、劉星佑、簡翊洪、藍予聰等人。然而不可否認的,每位藝術家仍有各自的「業障」要面對,有的是自己的情傷,有的則是在表現對於理想關係的追求,有的則是在自我認同的基礎上,思考更多關於民族與國族的議題,有的則是「擾民」任性式的,以自己的父親母親為攝影記錄對象,有的則將彩虹符號做為發想的開端,透過物件交換,與他人產生互動與交流,然而有的則全然不理會上述內容,沉浸在宛若「技術控」的愉悅裡,以數位互動媒體表達自己對於人與人之間關係的感受。 巴魯‧瑪迪霖是本計劃第一次合作的原住民藝術家,透過巴魯‧瑪迪霖作品的藝術語言,試圖理解原住民在台灣這塊土地上,在人權與性別權利之間,有著雙重的困難要面對。藍予聰則是第一個參與本計劃的藝術家群像中,最絕對的「正」妹(「妹」不「妹」是由「正」不「正」來決定的),另外由丁建中、張致中、楊雅翔、沈暐翃、趙任威等人組成的團隊,將分享近年從事諸如籌備凱道婚姻平權音樂會現場、參與同志生命故事拍攝,或是下鄉推廣性別平權等,參與過程的紀錄影像。 最後身為一個恐同同志,希望藉由展覽訴說「革命尚未成功,同志仍須努力」的中心愛心思想;意識形態的戰爭,在平凡的生活中並非不存在,很多時候「假」想敵都是真的,而最大的敵人往往也是自己,《今天不回家》在今日不再是一首禁歌,但「家」的意義仍然有待更多屬於「人」的討論。 |
In the real life, the gender distinction exists everywhere just like the air; or, being ignored as the air. The enlightenment, representation, and practice of gender consciousness is continually acting in the daily life, which may strengthen the understanding, or probably misunderstanding. When we think of the imagination of gender, it owns a close and faint relationship with the meaning of “home,” and even the interpretation of home in the history. The gender issue is not everything in the daily life, but we could have the opportunity to investigate ourselves again by the reminder of gender issues.
Coexist Exhibition Project has launched and held open calls for artists who were focusing on gender issues on the internet since 2014. From then on, the project has successfully arranged at least one physical exhibition per year. These exhibitions were “Death at Daybreak?” at FreeS Art Space, “You Closed Eyes My Extinction” at DigiArk, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and “Try Me” at Nanhai Gallery within these three years. These exhibitions focused on gender issues by discussing “coming out and romance,” “media and society,” and “gender and desire” which might be considered as “off-topic.” Moreover, following the “off-topic” way just like the past, the exhibition in this year, as the fourth year of the exhibition project, is called “On My Way Home” which bases on the foundation of previous exhibitions and deepens the imagination and thought of “home.” The participating artists include Baru Madiljin, CHUANG Chih-Wei, CHEN An-An + HUANG Shao-Ying, CHEN Han-Sheng, Orlando HUANG, LIOU Sing-You, CHIEN Yi-Hung, and LAN Yu-Tsung. However, it could not deny that each artist has his/her own “karmic debt” to deal with: it can be the feeling of heartbroken, the pursuit of the ideal relationship, and opinions of the nation issue based on the self-identity. Meanwhile, some artists are recording their parents for their works in an annoying and capricious way, and some are taking the rainbow symbol and using it to build up the interaction and communication with other people by exchanging objects. However, some artists totally ignore the above narratives; instead, they get involved into the pleasure of “technical complex” and express their feeling of relationships by digital interacting media. In this project, Baru Madiljin is the first aboriginal participating artist. Through the artistic language in his artworks, there is a dual-difficulty of human and gender right to deal with when we attempt to understand aboriginals in the land of Taiwan. LAN Yu-Tsung is the first participating artist who is absolutely a “hot” chick (the definition of “chick” is given only when she is recognized “hot”) among the full list of participating artists in this project. Besides, the team founded by DING Chien-Chung, CHANG Chih-Chung, YANG Ya-Siang, SHEN Wei-Hung, and CHAO Jen-Wei is presenting their recording and images of live concert scenes for the marriage equality, life stories of homosexual communities, and the process of promoting the gender equality in country sides within these years. In the end, as a homophobic gay, I hope I am able to deliver the central loving message of “the revolution has not yet succeeded, teammates still need to work harder” in this exhibition. The conscious war does not vanish in the ordinary life; instead, most of the time “imaginary enemy” is not imaginary but real, and we are most likely ourselves’ first enemy. The song “On My Way Home” is no longer forbidden nowadays, but the definition of “home” is still waiting for the further discussion by the “human”. |
